Could somebody help me identifying this fish? I got it in a tank break down and can’t decipher. I’m stuck between a yellow angelfish or a lemon damsel. Maybe something else?

He’s a bit faded yellow. I’d say between a yellow and orange

Hope the pictures help.

Yeah he’s definitely the biggest damsel I’ve seen. I think he’s pretty old as my yellow tang I got from the break down is very old as well
You should see the garibaldi damsel- gets to an easy 6"

These guys get pretty big as well. All of 6" out on the reef when snorkeling with them in St Kitts. Microspathodon chrysurus, the Yellow Tailed or Atlantic Jewel Damsel. Juveniles are particularly stunning! Mine is currently about 3", a little territorial but nothing crazy. Way better behaved than the sohal and clown tangs he shares a tank with, and an excellent algae eater. 2nd pic is a wild 1" baby I managed to snap a pic of while snorkeling in St Kitts.
