Best guess is this fish came in on some macro, Halimeda maybe. It has survived 1 tank move, and grown quite round.

Found it today in our overflow. Took a few pictures from the acclimation box we set up. Closest ID we think is a bass or a molly.

Seems to prefer caves and shelter. 1.5" length, maybe 1/2" around.

Molly huh? I’d be curious how it survived on macroalgae or became pregnant. We have gobies, tang, and a hawkfish in the system.

It may have had a rough time living in the overflow for who knows how long. I’m keeping it in the acclimation box to give it safe space away from tankmates. I’ll post some more pics if it colors up more or loses the bloat!
