Hi everyone! Here we go.
I started my tank journey in January 2023, maybe not 100% in the wrong way, but I would give my six month ago self a 9 outta 10 on the scale of how not to jump into a hobby. Reason, simple.. I have a few hobbies and they require research.. I should have known better.. I point this out for any person reading this thread that hasn't started yet..
With all of that out of the way, I am super excited I was able to succeed thus far as well as I have. I decided to go a bit over the top as it relates to the room for the tank, I took a space in the home we really had no use for whether it was to be a "den" "family room" or whatever, and turned it into the beginnings of a fish tank room\office\library. There is even a space for the dog to enjoy the tank..
Directly under this room is where I plan to have the mixing station etc.. currently the only item there is the RO system.
I am hoping that you all enjoy my start in the Aquarium world as much as my family and I do. To me, this is the room to be in any chance you can. Here is everything purchased listed out for my tank below. I have a pretty good idea at this point what was a good vs bad (or simply less good to not be so dramatic) buy, and as things progress I will be upgrading as necessary. Also, I went to my first reefapalooza at the Meadowlands convention center (New York show) which was really overwhelming.. but, I learned more stuff so all good!!
