Hey this is my first salt water tank and I just added clown fish to my tank after cycling it for 5 weeks. They been glass surfing all day, and now they swimming straight down when lights go out….I haven no clue if something’s wrong or if they are just having fun! Any tips would be lovely! Here’s a vid of what they do!

If they're eating and not floating upside down this is generally a good sign. ;) A lot of times they will chase their reflection in the glass, and finding a different spot to sleep when theights go down is perfectly normal (mine would hang out near the overflow after bedtime).

Ah yes thanks for the tip! They are still alive after a week and apparently I been researching that they don’t like salt lvls above 1.24 but mine is about 1.26 and they are doing fine. Should I be worried at all?

You should be good friend, mine have been in 1.026 for over a year. Clowns seem to be just that.... Clowns. My clowns will immediately go to the overflow above my power head and sort of "lazy" swim as they "sleep"every night stand place lol.

I have two that have been in the tan for about 2 months. They never move from the water inlet area to the tank at the overflow box, and point almost straight down. That was before I turned on 1 light. Now they venture out a bit more but always go back day or night. My other clown in a different tank on her own has her area stacked out behind a rock in the back for the night. I would not worry at all. However they will start fighting, and you will see one getting bigger than the other. Be careful. Mine used to chase the male ie the smaller one until it submitted. Sometimes driving it into my overflow thankfully, and not out of the tank. It was a pain to have to retrieve the male. Thankfully I found a way to prevent this. Also at some point soon the female will start to attack you when you put your hand in the tank lol

I wouldn't be, no. My salinity is in the 1.0255-1.0265 range and the pair of clownfish I have are doing great (and have been for 8 months now).
