First Crack at Handling Hammer Coral: Is this hammer stressed or is this brown jelly disease?

I added this coral into my tank a week ago. It was doing great until yesterday. To be honest it might still be okay I just don't have a trained eye for these coral. This first picture is yesterday (it's alittle blurry but I'm focusing on this transparent coating on the base of the coral). Today the coating looks to be the same but the heads have retracted and there is are some slimy protrusions from the center of the coral. Let me know what you think.
