So, my filefish was stung on the mouth by my large rainbow anemone. I saw it happen, I don't know if it was trying to nip at the anemone or if it just got caught by the tenical swimming too close. It's mouth was stuck for a few seconds and was able to free itself. It seemed to be swimming ok. I took the fish out and moved it to another tank, in an acclimation box for a few days. It was still eating at that point but I could tell its mouth was swollen . I started treating the tank with Polyplab medic. After a few days, I let him go in the tank. A few days after that, I noticed it was getting worse and white looking. The fish was having a difficult time eating because it's mouth opening was not visible through the white. (See pictures) I move him to a quarentine tank to treat him. I called the National Fish Pharmaceuticals and spoke with a very helpful guy there. I told him, what was going on and wanted to know if I could use some fish meds I bought from them a few years ago for some sick koi. I told him what I had so he told me to start with the Forma Green for 5-7 days. If it didn't start working in 3 days to move on to the Nitrotrofurison Green. Then, Neomycin Sulfate powder if that didnt work. It just keeps looking worse. The Forma Green didn't seem like it was working so I'm in the second day of the Nitrofurison Green now.
Has anyone had this sort of thing happen to their fish before and was the fish ok? It's going to starve soon if this keeps up. I feel terrible. I have put food in the tank a few times to see if it will try to eat and it does try but can't get any. Anyone have any ideas that might help? The pictures are out of order for some reason. Sorry.
Thank you.
