I'm very new to this hobby, my tank has only been cycled for slightly over 2 weeks, my first two fish were two baby clowns (6-7months) and I have since added 1 jewelled rockskipper along with a peppermint shrimp. As for corals I have a green torch with about 8-10 heads and 2 very small zoanthids.

I have may foods and have since worked out that the clowns seem to like the AF marine mix M pellets and plankton elixir, the shrimp likes the algae pellets, and the rockskipper is a bit of a shy eater still so I've thrown in about 1/3 of a veggie clip and try to keep Nori in the tank, I do catch him eating from time to time but he isn't like the other fish that eat when they are fed.

I'm almost 100% certain I have been over feeding my tank and would like to get the hang of feeding these guys for their and my own sake.

My tank is 55 x 55 x 55cm, ~150L

I was also wondering if the rockskipper would get along with a diamond goby?

Welcome to R2R and the hobby.

You have come to the right place. You should get a plethora of information on R2R. I’ll give my .02 on feeding. First feed a variety, it looks like you have been. ManyFish have different dietary needs, different size mouths and eat from different places on the reef. I.e. floating in water, forging in the substrate or picking off the rocks. Second look into some sort of food supplements to add, usual something that soaks in like Selcon. Next, feed small amounts multiple times a day, rather one or two big meals. Lastly, if you are seeing the food laying around after 10-15 min cut back on what you are feeding. I hope this helps a bit.

Free advice: The most expensive part of this hobby is impatience. Decided what you want, save up for it if you must, get the best you can and only buy it once! Enjoy the hobby!

First and foremost... Welcome to R2R!

Go easy on the feeding as your tank is way to young to handle the slightest bit of overfeeding with will cause you headache and heart burn sooner rather than later.

If you think you’re over feeding, you’re probably WAY over feeding...... fish go days without finding food sometimes...... so just go light

Awesome thanks a heap for the responses! I'll try feed more frequently and less.

Does anyone have any advice on the rockskipper getting along with a diamond watchman goby?
