Feeding benepets

I'm currently dosing phyto and Red Sea AB+ in my 2 year old 240 gallon mixed reef. I've decided to take my coral feeding to the next level and start feeding Benepets, and am having a hard time finding information on how to feed. The label says to feed 1/2 teaspoon for 25 gallons, which would make 9 teaspoons/3 tablespoons for my tank. That seems like a lot! Is that reasonable? I just tried feeding 1 tablespoon, and that was enough to make the water very cloudy, it doesn't seem like I'd want more than that.

Beyond dosage, any other guidance? I turned off my return pump for 10 minutes and left flow on. Does that sound good? When in the light cycle is is best to feed? I didn't see any feeding response in any of my corals when I fed, I would have expected my lobos and some other corals to show a feeding response.

I use about a 1/4 tsp for a 120 gallon tank once or twice a week. I feed in the morning when the lights come on, I don’t turn off the pumps and let it circulate.

You’ll have a lot less waste if you target feed with basters. When I turn off pumps and broadcast feed 3/4 of my corals don’t get any and most the mix ends up on the sand bed and in the rocks. I stopped doing this and use a baster and give each coral a little blast

To make things easier let’s round up and say the tank is 250g

If your label says 1/2 tsp per 25g then…

250 / 25 = 10 “1/2 teaspoons” which equals 5 level tsp. Not sure where you got 9 from because even when I round up I get 5

However the label (maybe it was revised. Maybe yours is smudged) says 1/4 tsp per 25 g

250 / 25 = 10 “1/4 tsp’s”

10 x .25 = 2.5 level tsp

Yes, my math was wrong. It should be about 5 teaspoons. There are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon, which, which is what I fed. That's what seemed like too much. I didn't turn off my flow, just the return pump, so it was broadcast throughout the tank. So maybe I got an old container? Mine does say a half teaspoon I think. I'll check again tomorrow.

My Benereef does say 1/2 tsp per 25 gallons. And that's what it says on the benepets site:

So this seems like too much to me. Most people don't actually feed this much?

Also, when is best to feed? Should I feed at night after the lights go out?

Who follows directions? Feed what you are comfortable with and doesn’t foul the tank.
