I hoping to add a yellow clown goby to my 56l as it's 1st inhabitant.

I was planning on feeding his frozen food, such as brine shrimp. But are there any other foods I can add to it's diet?
Do they do well with flake and pellet food?
Should I be target feeding, or just dump the food into the tank?

I did read that they eat copepods, but with my tank being freshly cycled and having no sump/refugium. I can't see the little guys lasting long.

My friend had two clown gobies, and he said told me that he could really only get them to eat frozen foods, while being target fed. This obviously doesn’t account for all clown gobies, but you could start out there

My clown gobies eat everything. If you feed pellets, they need to be micro pellets that are small enough for them. Flake is good, so is frozen mysis, brine, and reef frenzy, all fish love reef renzy. I just add food to the tank, I don't spot feed, All fish eat copepods, but its not really a meal, more like a small snack, most fish can't survive on pods alone.

when i had clown gobies they would eat absolutely anything i put in the tank besides nori sheets, one in particular would sit on the very thin top of the nori while it would wave around and other fish were eating it (weird)

I got the little fella yesterday and gave him his 1st feeding of brine shrimp today.

He gave it his best, but some of them shrimp were too big for him and he ending up spitting them out.
Is there anything smaller then brine shrimp?
