It's been fine for over a month. was getting picked on by another wrasse so moved to this tank a couple weeks ago. 2 blue springer damsels have been in this tank and still are for over a month. They seem healthy although did have some white streaks on them when I bought them. Look normal now.

Wrasse is swimming abnormal and left eye is covered in white film. Eating ok but not acting normal.

I have prazipro, kanaplex, metroplex, and focus.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thx

This looks like a product of scratch or injury and should be treated in a quarantine tank using Maracyn AKA Maracyn 1 which is ethromyacin for at least 5 days. Maintain good water quality during treatment and increase oxygen with use of an air stone

So I treated with prazipro and within a few minutes he started acting different and colors changed completely. Crazy

_Praziquantel is not the cure and often reduces both oxygen and appetite. Before treating with maracyn, do a water change and add carbon for a few hours to reduce the Prazi.

As a people doctor this vet stuff fascinates me. So the injury causes a bacterial infection that then causes the fish to act strange?
I don't think fish are any different than people. I certainly am not myself when I'm sick or in pain. It might be said that I'm acting strangely in these situations as in "not my normal self". :) I hope your little guy recovers! The eye looks sore.

So petco only had maracyn oxy which is sodium chlorite 4.3%. Best option I may have is kanaplex which is kanamycin sulfate 32%. Thoughts anyone?

I can't account for the change in color immediately after adding the Prazipro. How does it look today?

If it is bacterial, Maracyn Oxy is not a good choice for this. Erythromycin seems to work the best for eye issues, but any gram negative antibiotic for aerobic bacteria could work.

Thanks vetteguy and Jay. Hard to tell this morning since he's sleeping. I gave one dose of kaneplex last night after carbon and water change. It says every 2 days for max of 3 doses. I'll check him after work this afternoon. Anyone know where to find the erythromycin in case it doesn't work?

It does seem better. However, antibiotics don’t work overnight like that so any improvement so far is unrelated to the Kanaplex last night. We’ll take what we can get though, right?
Jay
It looks normal today. He is acting normal also. I don't think I will dose anymore antibiotics. I will leave him in the medication tank until tomorrow. Thoughts?

I'd back off on the antibiotics, but watch for a relapse.
