New tank that just finished cycle last week. I did a 25% water change on Wednesday and added a couple fish and corals on Friday. Saturday morning everything has a white film (display and sump). If I rub with my finger it comes off but not easily. Doesn't feel gritty.

Today:
Nitrate 35
Phosphate 0
SG 1.025
PH 8.4
CA 325 (it was at 425 last week but not sure when it dropped. Could have been Friday night)
Alk 8.9
Mg 1241
Temp 78

Only thing running at the moment is the Reefmat and a bubble sponge. There is a Chempure blue at the bottom of the Reefmat.

Started with Dry sand and Dry rock.

Thanks for any help.

So, you're not dosing anything, and are making your own saltwater with RODI water?

Which salt?
Have you double checked your Alkalinity?

yes making on saltwater with RODI water. Other tank Biocube 32 is doing fine

Alkalinity is done by Trident; Just checked with Hanna and it's 12

Nyos salt

I have BRS 2 part hooked up with DOS and the trident controls it so it has be dosing to maintain levels

I'd suggest stop dosing for a while, and let the Alkalinity drop.

The precipitate I believe is calcium carbonate and will not redissolve, so you will need to vacuum it out.

It's doesn't vacuum. It is adhered to everything like glue. If I rub it eventually comes off
