So... I misread the directions on dosing elimi-np initially and have been dosing 2ml every morning into my 250L tank for about a month now. N and P have been really stable since starting this dosage at roughly 25 and .25 respectively.
This morning I decided I was going to try upping the dosage to see if it would draw my numbers down. Found the calculator on the TM website and discovered max recommended dosage is 1.25 ML/day.

Up to this point, I haven't seen any adverse effects on the tank from what I can tell, but I'm curious as to what sort of issues I will run into if I continue overdosing?

Going through the bottles twice as fast as recommended will double the profits to the seller and manufacturer. It's good to support the reefing community! Keep us posted on what you discover and how it works out.

With ANY type of carbon dosing, overdoing complications could be things like the promotion of undesirable algae or bacterial growth or exc essive oxygen consumption. Hpwever, Tropic Marin is extrememnly concervative with maximum dosages we recommend. I wouldn't anticipate you have any issues at all at that level of dosing.

I just started using this product today, Elimi NP. Is it normal for corals to retract after initial dose? @Lou Ekus Thank you in advance for your response!

no the corals shouldn't retract. Personally I skip using this product a lot of the time as it can suddenly dip way low. just take it slow and steady and personally use half the dose for a week and then ramp it up all while monitoring your n&p

Have you tested your nutrients after the addition?
I wanted to give the product sometime in the system before I tested for nutrients, before I dosed yesterday @ 3pm, I had a PO4 reading 0f .16 and a NO3 reading of 8.8, also I fed the fish @4pm and again @8pm yesterday. Today I tested nutrients @ 1030a.m. and my PO4 is reading .16 and NO3 is reading 8.7. I have a frogspawn and goniopora that didn't seem to happy after the initial dose which was the recommended 0.1 ml per 25 gallons.

It is not usually the case, to see the corals retract from the use of ELIMI NP. There are many fa tors that could come into play. I would double check the niutrient levels and pH and alkalinity. See if something turns up that might influence that. If nothing pops up, then I would split the dose in half to start and make sure it disperses well when dosing. See if that makes any difference.
