Does kalk lose its efficacy/ potency over time? I'm running a 10 gal reservoir with rodi water where I place about a Tbs to 2 Tbs of kalkwasser per gallon. Do you guys find that you can just continue to add rodi water to the reservoir as long as there remains kalk sediment at the bottom? Or is that sediment just "sediment" and not really usable kalkwasser anymore?

I know people that run kalk reactors usually just refill with kalk powder once thier is no more settling at the bottom.

If there is undissolved calcium hydroxide on the bottom, you can reuse it by adding more water and stirrin (I did that many times) , but you will also get undissolvable calcium carbonate depositing, so you cannot judge potency by the presence of solids.
