The controller is blinking red and orange. It apparently means that something is either stuck inside the motor or it went bad. I took it apart and saw 3 trochus snails stuck inside, which I completely cleaned.

I put back the pump together, but it’s still blinking red and orange.

How can I reset the controller?

3 days ago it blinked red and orange for the first time, so I just unplugged it and plugged it back it, and it worked. It was working the whole time until I closed the pumps to feed the tank today.

Heres the link to instructions on how to factory reset that controller.. Hopefully that works if not gotta invest in a guard around the input next time. Ecotech might be willing to send you replacement parts at cost I’d reach out to them.

That link doesn’t work.

Yes, I will look into guards, however, will guards even work if the snails start as spawns?

How big where the snails that got in the pump? There's strainers idk exactly what they are called that are pretty small and will definitely stop just about any of them

They were pretty big.

I called Echotech, and they told me to send it out to them for repair, which I’ll do.

Luckily, my tank runs on 2 return pumps, for reasons like this. :)

I already ordered the strainers.

Sweet glad you have 2, I bet they will end up just sending you a new one.

I'm curious how the snails reached your return chamber? I've had snails for over a year in my fuge but they never made their way to the return chamber. They have to pass a gate wall and a separate bubble trap to. Is yours an open design with no separate chambers?

I have 100 micron filter socks before any thing enters the sump, and the snails can bypass them because they start as spawns.
