Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had a fish or invert that religiously eats hair algae. I have a 25 gallon lagoon and would love to purchase something online somewhere if you guys have suggestions.
TIA :)

Once it's long enough to be annoying it's too long to eat. Manual removal, managing parameters and a proper CuC is your best solution. I always recommend reefcleaners.org

Small turbo snails and blue leg hermit crabs and cerith snails. Nassarius snails dont eat alage but eat detitus in san bed if you have .

They are here to help manage the problem but you need to figure out whats causing it. Also know sometimes you just get alage for a month or so and then goes away if you and the snails team up.

yeah once it gets long and stringy it’s not as palatable as the new growth…
….sorta that’s why you see lip prints on the front glass more
…a well placed “surgical strike” of a chembomb filled with peroxide is what I prescribe …
..the cheap grocery store 3% stuff, squirt point blank on exposed rock if possible, replace, watch it fizzz
…watch out for shrimp

One comment: Hair Algae is a collection of dozens, if not hundreds, of species that are visually very similar. What eats one species of it may not eat another, so what works for one persons tank may be ineffective in another tank.
