2020 wasn't the best year for many of us reefers.

But 2021 is going to be my year as not only do we close on our new home tomorrow, but I just hit the PAY ME NOW button on a REEF LX 270.6 with 4 XR30 Gen 5 Blue.

So out with the old and in with the new!

I want to start the build thread right this time around as this will be my dream tank build.

Here is what I know as far as hardware that will be going into this build as I'm reusing some from my current but shortly being taken offline 90g/50g lowboy. I'll plumb the frag tank separately later on.

Apex 2016 /COR-20 /DOS /ATK /PMK /WAV×2 /Trident
Geos Reef CR612X2 /CarbonDoser /FX-STP
MP40QD ×2
Upgrading skimmer to a Deltec 1500I

I know I'm a couple of months out from getting the tank and setting it up, but D@#N it feels good!

Here is the room where the tanks are going. Back wall will be for the 270, and wall on the left is where the 60g cube will be going.

The boss wants to put up wood slats on the back wall and paint them with a nautical theme. We might be looking at using PVC board instead of wood, but that's up in the air?

Got a 100g Stock Tank I'm going to use as a holding tank the new tank gets here. I have a buyer for the 90g and would like tonget it emptied this weekend so let's see how that works out.

Plan is to take the 90 offline, take the sump thays being used and plumb it to the stock tank and then relocate the fish and whatever corals I have left. Going to take as much water as I can from the current system to fill the stock tank, and mix fresh SW to fill the rest. Going to keep all the rock in there was well since it's been running for 3 years give or take so I should have some good bio.

I was going to get blocks to lift the tank off the ground but I saw Travtor Supply had some foam blocks that are used to transport their trailers over. Picked them up for 1.50 a piece and for of them should be enough to support the tank. Goimg to take pics of the stock tank setup if I can get to it this weekend.

Got the rest of the fish, invertebrates, and cleanup crew and moved over to the stock tank. Emptied oit the rest of the tank to get it ready for its new owner. Fell short with water to fill up the sump, so I'll be making another trip tomorrow to fill and get the sump online for the stock tank.
