I just lost my last dragon face pipefish. I’m thinking I won’t add this species anymore unless I confirm their natural life expectancy is fairly short.

All my dragonface pipefish have been full grown and they all fed on frozen that they caught from the water column, as well as pods. Same thing goes for my pair of mandarins that I successfully kept for well over a year now. But dragon face pipefish only seem to live 6months-1 year. I wonder if their natural life cycle is 2-3 years and by the time they make it to the LFS they are all adults.

This is a variable question as these are hard to keep eating, challenging and particular about their food source as well as water quality and water movement
A constant supply of Luis’s bugs susceptible as pods and rotifiers are a must
They live up to 2 years in captivity but that number based on environment and diet
