Dr. Reef’s is an amazing vendor for quarantined fish!

Ive kept a saltwater tank since 2011, but never ordered live fish via shipping for fear of stressing the fish beyond return. However, not having room or time to qt my own fish previously, I’ve had a fair share of losses over the years from buying sick fish at other vendors.

That being said, I have had 2 orders from Dr. Reef now and both times have had an amazing experience. The first order I purchased a clam and and a wrasse. The second order I bought a coco worm, a whitetail bristletooth, and a leopard wrasse. All came healthy and happy (the fish understandably were very slightly tired after shipping) but within hours all were comfy and eating! The packing is amazing, in fact I saved the insulated containers and use them to transport coral and frozen food from my LFS (extra bonus!)

To add to that, since I’ve not had fish shipped before, they were super helpful and very quickly to respond to assist with questions about acclimating as well as talking me though some of the concerns I had about the fish (unwarranted concern on my end as they were just tired). They put my mind at ease and in fact they were right as they fish quickly adjusted and got to normal.

Moving forward any fish I’ll buy will all be through Dr. Reef. The small extra cost and shipping is well worth the peace of mind knowing fish are healthy, qt’ed, eating, and will survive. The amount of money, stress, and heartache I could have avoided from buying elsewhere is significantly higher than what the extra cost was for qt’ed fish.

My only regret is that I haven’t known about them earlier.
