Dosing and feeding alternatives

Its pretty well common knowledge that kalkwasser is calcium hydroxide and a much cheaper alternative is pickling lime, and baking soda can be used for PH or alk or somthing, never done that one,-- I also use garlic bought at king soopers instead of the fish stores garlic, much more cost effective , and I already had some (cuz I likes garlic). I have also fed organic cocktail shrimp (preservative and hormone free meat).
So this made me wonder what else can be thrown in my fish tank??
Milk? calcium and vitamins?
Eggs? proteins and aminos?
What do you dose or feed as cheap alternatives?
Opinions or thoughts??

Ive heard of soaking food in fish oil that you can get from the grocery store or pharmacy. That is cheaper than the prepared stuff you buy at the LFS.

Awesome mental imagery here man. Im all about the cheap ****...but milk in an aquarium ha ha! Too much
