After dosing it for like the third day in a row I noticed it smelled like rotten eggs. No one is dead but what should I be looking for? It’s a 55 gal and I was doing about 5ml per day. Should I be checking ammonia? Or how else do elevated sulfer levels show up in a tank?

Your system should be able to handle it. Natural product, low dose, large tank...might see some extra skimmate - might not. Keep an eye on the tank. I don't even think I'd worry about doing any water changes.

You could check ammonia may see a bump - I would doubt that it gets close to toxic levels.
