I have a PC rainbow colony that has been struggling for over 8 months (has actually never been happy). I am concerned it has pests, but have not been able to visually see any. The other sps in the tank seem happy and don't have any issues. I did make a few frags of it a month ago when I thought it may have been STN. The frags also have the same lesions/loss of color.
1. Does this look like red bugs, white bugs, AEFW? Should I do a microscopic exam after a dip?
2. Should I just empirically treat the tank with interceptor (would rather avoid this if I can as it would be hard to catch all the other invertebrates)?
3. Should I just ditch this one coral and monitor the rest of the corals in the tank which seem to be fine?
Paramaters are as follows:
dKH 8.5
Ca++ 450
Mg++ 1470
NO3 25
PO4 0.18
PAR is around 250 at the PC Rainbow
Any suggestions and insights would be much appreciated.
Thanks!
