Hi everyone. So I recently placed an order for 10lbs of live rock with KP aquatics and it will be here in two days. My question is do I need a light for it when it gets here. How long can the coralline algae go without a light? I don't currently have a light but can buy a cheap one pretty quickly if I end up needing one to keep the rock alive. Thank you in advance for everyone's responses.

Live rock does not need like but photosynthetic organism needs like. U can go for cheap blue light. Coralline will need light to stay alive

Coralline algae would be OK without light for mere then few days.
I ordered Aussie and TBS live rock and kept it in a brute container for 2-3 weeks without light before adding it to DT.
Not only coralline algae survived, but also Halimeda.

wow, didn't think it could go that long. Alright so I guess I don't have to scramble to go get a light then and will just go with the originally planned light in a week or two. Thank You!
