Do you know any zoanthids that are really colorful in white light?

White zombies, fruit loops, radioactive dragonseyes, purple monsters, blue hornets, rastas, bob marleys, scrambled eggs.

Photos:

1- CB White Zombies
2- Bob Marleys (green), Scrambled eggs (yellow)
3- WWC purple monsters, orange bam bams
4- Radioactive dragonseyes (not a very colorful set either mine are kinda dull)
5- Fruit loops (mine have morphed into something different kinda)

When my hornets and Rasta reopen I’ll send you pics.

No trouble at all. WWC purple monsters and the fruit loops grow like absolute weeds. If you want something pretty that doesn’t take a lot of time to get a big colony I’d recommend them. They shouldn’t be too expensive at all.

I don’t have white light pics of some stuff but the first one here are Rasta in white light. You can see them under blues in my second picture. Also in my third pic. The fourth pic are called goblins on fire and although I don’t have a white light pic I promise you they look EXACTLY the same in white light. They are super duper cool if you want some color.

Here’s some more for you to consider that will be cheap.

1- cheese heads (aka Green Bay packers)
2- Some kinda utter chaos morph (no idea)
3- Pikachu zoa
4- Goblins on fire (mentioned above) and regular utter chaos

Every photo of zoanthids online is under blue light and my LFS uses them too. I am looking for zoas that are brightly colored under white light too. Any suggestions?
Utter chaos, whammin watermelon, purple monsters, and rainbow infusion is a pretty pastel

Thanks again! I really appreciate it. I just discovered that there is a frag swap Saturday about an hour from here in FL. Perfect timing. I think I will come home with at least a couple of the ones you put here.

A lot of the blue zoas will look good because blue light makes blues look muted. AOI, blue lagoon, blue Hornet, Miami kiss, etc. I’ll turn on the whites tomorrow and grab some pics of any that really pop :)

Red hornets, pink diamonds, many of the orange Zoas (bam bam, clementines, orange oxides), sunny Ds, and Tubbs blue, etc are all great under non blue LEDs. These have the benefit of being cheap. Not always, but it is the “high-end” Zoas that require blue LEDs to make them look good.

Agreed with this sentiment. Only exception that I’m aware of are CB white zombies and little shop of horrors. Least as far as “looking good” is concerned IMO. Now if I could only find some LSOH for less than 100$ per head lol

Edit: Cheap tip, get yourself a 3$ pair of orange safety glasses at Walmart to look at your reef with under the blue LEDs. It’s makes a WORLD of difference since our eyes can’t filter blue light so great.

I just joined this community and I have to say that I am amazed at how helpful everyone is! Taking the time to take photos of their tanks just to send me pictures, etc. is really awesome.
