So I've got a beautiful feather duster in my 20 gallon and know they're filter feeders but do they really need additional Phyto to be added to thrive? The reason I'm asking is because I've got starfish in the tank too which require low nutrients and adding even live phyto adds to nutrient levels when added daily as it doesn't live for long in the aquarium even when bought live...do I really need to dose phyto for it or should it be just fine just feeding on other particulates in the water column?
