Hey Gang,

I just tested my water an everything looked great except for the dKH.

Ph was 8.2
Calcium was 450
0 trites, trates, and ammonia

but...the dKH was 14. Is this too high?

What would cause this and how can I fix it (if needed?)

Thanks!

Rob

over dosing is only thing that i know of that will cause dkh to go that high... been there done it.. add jsut straight ro water or with a lot less dose dkh in it.. also could do water changes to bring it down. but bring it down slowly, to fast can have bad effects... or can not dose for a few days and test it daily to see how fast its dropping.

Yes too high...especially if its not a SPS only tank....my opinion. Dose Calcium only for a week or so and let it come down slowly.
