I made one with glass and it's hela ugly.

made the L-shape with 2 pieces of rectangular glass and siliconed another piece over top to hold the 2 together.

the circular cutout is acrylic cut with an adjustable drill press hole saw.

whole thing is siliconed to the inside of a 10G sump.

I converted my sump out of a 75g tank. I drilled 4 holes into what used to be the center brace. Then heat up some pvc and push it into the holes, I used 2" but different sizes would be fine. Then I cut some slip joints in half and use them to retain draw string filter socks.

It worked, but I didn't like washing filter socks. So I'm currently using filter floss and 3" pvc under the holes as splash guards and bubble traps.

I made my "crash box" into a refugium.

I like that but was thinking of Aquamesh pads.
