There are suction cups and a mount on the MJ12, they come with them. My sump is a 150 stock tank and I just suctioned the pump toward the bottom standing upright like the picture.
Can you clarify what I need to look for with pillow stuffing? I want to replace the media in my filter cups with it and can’t seem to find a clear answer if I can go to the store and just buy a cheap pillowI just pack a media reactor with pillow stuffing and run that.
Cheap Polyfill from walmart in the craft section is what I use! Comes in a big bag just rip out handfulls of how much you need. Can you clarify what I need to look for with pillow stuffing? Nice work Bobby. Most of us have sediment filters lying around for RODI units & this is a good idea for use on the aquarium.I made this floss filter out of 3/4" PVC, 1 Micron Sediment Filter, and an MJ12.
When you say reverse flow, do you attach it to your ro/di and use the flush valve?Nice work Bobby. Most of us have sediment filters lying around for RODI units & this is a good idea for use on the aquarium.
I reverse flush my sediment filters when I use them for this kind of filtering, then hang it on the clothes line to dry & sterilize in sunlight, then good to go again.
Have checked whether this sediment filter also affecting the salinity of the water. Can you update after checking please.UPDATE:
I rigged up a PVC board and created a mount out of scrap PVC to hold the pump and set it at the bottom of the sump. Now it's nice and secure and I can change the filters out and barely even get my fingers wet. Cool little setup I must say!
