This was my first time diving The Philippines (my first day of several actually) and I wanted to share a few pictures of the more than 100 I took today. If you want to see videos of schools of hundreds of fish and other reef creatures, I uploaded the videos to YouTube and added the links here.

Tomorrow I'll be diving Balicasag, one of the most beautiful reefs in The Philippines and uploading more videos. Only 150 divers are allowed to dive there per day if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks! Tomorrow I leave Bohol and head to Dumaguete which is on another island. Theres a dive location there called Apo Island which is supposed to be one of the best in the Philippines! Ill post a couple pics here as well as vodeos to my Youtube. Nlw that I have a Youtube channel, I'll post videos of my dives in Thailand as well since I dive very frequently.

Tomorrow I'll be diving Apo Island near Dauin. I went "muck diving" today just wading into the water from the shore and got some great shots!

It is! I went diving on Apo Island today and got some great pics. Check out this video of a scorpionfish!

I've just returned to Bangkok tonight (it's 3AM here) and am beyond glad I finally got around to making it to the Philippines! I might be returning later this year actually since it was low season for tourism due to it being the rainy season here in Southeast Asia. The water clarity was between good and great in my opinion but they say it gets much better actually. I'll either be making another trip there this year or booking a live-aboard to the Similan Islands.

I'll be putting together a video of the entire trip for YouTube when I get a chance.

By the way, you guys should really check out the video of that scorpionfish I posted on YouTube! It's pretty cool!

Living vicariously through you right now. Philippines is on my short list! But I need to get my ears fixed first! I have problems equalizing. So bad that I'm getting my Eustacian tubes balloon-dilated next week to make it easier lol

What's your camera setup like? And settings? Care to share? :)

The camera itself is an Olympus Tg-6. I purchased the Olympus brand protective case because many of my dives are far deeper than 15 meters. The Olympus brand case costs a little more than those made by other companies for the camera but is worth the money. The Sea Frogs case, for example, isn't a case I'd personally recommend. I use a Dive Pro 8000 light attached to the case and a white balance card is needed depending on conditions.

I dont mind sharing the camera settings but thats a bit difficult since there are settings within settings. The setting I choose (and whether to use my light) for a picture or video depends on the depth and weather. One recommendation I can give is to set the camera to save each picture in both RAW and jpg format. Each has its own advantage.
