So as I start to unbox all my equipment with expected delivery of my tank I as able to find some used equipment from my previous built. The most expensive used equipment was an EcoTech XR30 gen 5. I wanted to use with new gen 6s. I never looked at the light side till now but I see rust on the metal screws and cracks where the screws were over torqued or swelled up. Very bad wicket for a light I only used for 6-7 months previously.

Also looks like they used ether cheap metal bolts or exposed/not painted bolts judging from the picture. But if they warranty it, looks like they stand behind their product, and fixing their mistakes.

Can’t find the serial number without plugging it in and getting it from mobius. But the frame is $20 on their parts website anyway. Will get some new screws from Home Depot

I always had great luck ecotech until recently when my newest mp10 broke after about a year of use. Maybe their quality is going down hill? In my opinion there is no excuse for a light that expensive to have fasteners that rust so easily. Why not use SS?

I like their products as the mo40s and the versa coding pumps are awesome. Just surprised by the light issue. Also it’s no big allowance on their part. Other than the screws the frame is pretty inexpensive. $999 light and they are replacing a single digit cost frame.

I cannot speak to the Gen5 specifically, but I have Gen4 lights running continuously for many years without any rusting screws. Perhaps just a bad batch.

Thank you.
Received my cover panel with new screws and some basic tools and instructions. With probably cover the screws somehow and purchase the G6 upgrade as well to add to the other 2 G6s I purchased from BRS
