I will use Randy's recipe #2, but I saw the BRS recipe and I would like to add Tropic Marin Pro Coral Trace A- and K+ (for Trace elements) to the calcium part and alkalinity part of recipe #2.

Does the idea work?

Calcium part 1 gallon +80ml Tropic Marin Pro Coral Trace K+

Alkalinity part 1 gallon + 80ml Tropic Marin Pro Coral Trace A-

Am I taking the right dose?

If not, please point out

Happy coral reef;)

Yes, I think adding these supplements to the two parts as mentioned will work.

If you notice a precipitate form when adding them together that was not in either one before the addition, we can revisit the cause.

You're welcome.

Happy reefing. :)
In the recipe 2# Calcium Part,If I use anhydrous 96% calcium chloride,So how many grams do I have to add to a gallon,It doesn't change the intensity。I can't buy Dowflake 77-80% calcium chloride, so I have no way of knowing the volume,That's my last question, THX!

250 grams of 79% calcium chloride = 206 grams of 96% calcium chloride. :)

I know this is an old post but I’m looking for some help in my situation for this @Randy Holmes-Farley

If I dose 3 mL elements A & K per day, 34 mL alk, 30 mL calcium per day. To keep it simple let’s say a reserve of 500 mL.

Is my math right?

40.5 mL trace A + 459.5 mL alk

Likewise— 44 mL trace B + 456 mL calcium

Would I increase the doser volume for alk/calcium ( 37 and 33 mL respectively?

Thanks

One more question, I leave my tropic marine balling part C still at 68 mL/day. Right? Thanks for your help Randy.

The need for Balling Part C is not reduced by using TM A and K. :)

Thank you for doing the math lol

How do you select how much Tropic Marin A and K to add to each ALK and Calcium containers though?

TM’s suggestion is 1 mL of each per day per 100 L of water.

What size tank do you have and how much of the alk and calcium solutions do you dose each day?

Thanks for your response!

The total volume is about 50 gallons

I currently dose 35 mL of Alk and Calcium using your Recipe #1

"TM’s suggestion is 1 mL of each per day per 100 L of water." - This makes sense now!

I would add 2 mL into the alk and calcium parts for each 35 mL in the dosing containers and see how the tank does.

I did some math and this is what I got. Please let me know if this is correct.

50 gallons = 189 liters

I would need to dose 1.89 mL of A and K per day.

If I have a 4000 mL dosing container, I would have to add 228 mL of Tropic Marin A or K to the 4000 mL ALK or CAL solution. The final volume in each container would be 4228 mL.

When dosing, I would dose a total of 36.89 mL per day? 35 mL ALK + 1.89 mL Tropic Marin A

Sorry for all the questions.

Thank you!

Yes, that is correct.
