Shortly after setting up my tank, I battled with this algae. It seemed to resolve itself, but now it has returned. You may not be able to see well the photos, but I am referring to the brown, stringy algae.

Id please?

A little about the situation. This stuff grows daily. On my frags, on rocks, snails, filter intakes, etc. At night, it seems to die off. My phosphate reading is 0.02 (hanna checker). My nitrates are 0.25 (red sea). I mix my own salt with water from a new rodi unit, which reads 0.00 phosphates after mixing.

I am at a loss for how to eliminate this stuff. Please help me!! Recommendations and experiences are welcome.

Hard to tell the color cuz of blue. If its long and stringy its dino, but to me it looks like red slime.

I do not think it is cyanobacteria. Many of the fuels for cyanobacteria contradict conditions in my tank. Furthermore, the algae mostly grows long, stringy, brown strands over much of the bottom of the tank and, for who knows what reason, my birdsnest and spongodes.

From those shots I can't tell what you have there, but it doesn't look like Bryopsis to me. the stuff below is Bryopsis. But if you care to, you could raise your MAG to 1600, that outta do the trick.
