I have brown stringy stuff on my glass and brown stuff with bubbles on my rocks near the top of may tank. Pretty sure its dinos.

i previously dosed chemiclean due to cyano so I have been dosing MB7 (15ml a day) for the last 10 days. I noticed what I think are dinos on the rocks 2 days ago but it looked like i had some on the back glass about 5 days ago.

Any way I took some photos using my kids microscope. I am wondering what type of dinos these could be as I am about to get a UV sterilizer.

I have also been dosing Phyto 15 ml a day.
Microbacter7 15 ml a day
Neophos 5ml a day as phosphate always seems to be around .02-.03
I also dosed cheatogrow twice last week 5ml each time.
And i dose around 18 ml of all for reef each day.

My parameters are:
Alk 9.6 dkh
Calc 420
Mag 1320
Ph 8.1
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
Phosphate .04
Temp 78f.

Also don't know if coincidence but I lost an emerald crab, hermit and peppermint shrimp within the same 24 hour period.

Sorry I can’t ID them, but I can help with a couple suggestions to get rid of them, in addition to your UV. Dinos are quite common after chemiclean use btw.

Stop dosing microbacter 7. MB7 lowers nutrients. Bottomed out nutrients leads to dino.

Get PO4 up to 0.1 ppm.

My diatoms are just starting (yesterday morning) and two days ago last i check po4 is around .12 , is this too high? or should i shrug it off as tank maturity signs

UV works very well with dinos, but only with the type that appear to go away at lights out, only to reappear at lights on. But even if this doesn't work, a UV set up can be useful in the future. How old is your tank? Also, what's your flow like? How big is your tank and what kind of powerheads do you have in there? I'm concerned you don't have enough flow.

You've dosed MB7 for a bit, so let that take hold. You eventually want bacteria covering all surfaces, but this'll take time. And with the extra competition for space the dinos will eventually lose the war.

I have a 60 gallon display tank and a 20 gallons sump when taking into account water displacement from rock sand, equipment in the sump i have around 65 gallons of water.

I set the tank up May of last year so around 14 months old.

I have two wave makers on each side of the tank, one advertised at 1058GPH set to 100% with a random wave pattern and another one advertised at 2100GPH set to 50% also random wave pattern. Flow seems good.

I just put the 2100GPH one back in the tank around 3 weeks ago to increase flow, due to getting acro

Well i got my UV sterilizer set up today. I Have sucked as much of the mucus away as i can, blew the rest of it off of the rocks. I then turned off the lights and blacked out the tank with cardboard.

Fingers crossed in another 3 days i should be good. I am kind of worried about the Acro frag which i got though as well as the rest of my corals.

I am still dosing neophos but stopped dosing the microbacter7.
