I don’t see this topic being posted before . So the story is one of the one line store has gem tang for sale pretty good price . So I reserved one and asked them to quarantine for me for a month . Meanwhile during quarantine process , the owner of my LFS called me that one of his customers back off a gem tang order if I want it since I have asked him before . So I went to check out , it’s much bigger than the one from online and look fat and healthy with the same price . So I bought the one from LFS . Weeks later , I received quarantined tang from online .

long story short , I ended up with two gem tangs which are not intentional purchased. So those two one bigger and one smaller . They really get along well since I got them . The question I am asking here is they have totally different body shape . The smaller one from online store is like what u typically see from the ad, rounded like a coin shaped with tall fins . The one from LFS bigger one has kind of oval shaped body with shorter fin .
Are those from different region ? Thx god both are docile . Don’t bother each other or other tangs . Two yellow tangs still try to kill each other but they don’t bother gems .

please refer the photos see the different .

This is close shot for the bigger gem . U can see the fin shape is completely different compare with the scopas tang . The baby gem body shape is the same as the scopas tang in this photo . Hard to take good photos of baby gem since it’s small
