Did using a garden hose contaminate my new tank?

I recently transferred my 2 clowns, juvenile yellow tang, and a cleaner shrimp from my 20g to newly cycled 90g. The shrimp died within 2 hours and today I found my tang dead. It's been about a week since the transfer. The 2 clowns are alive but stick to one side of the tank. According to my alert badge there's no ammonia. I used a new-ish garden hose with a sicce utility pump to fill the tank. I found articles that said a garden hose can introduce chemicals. Anybody have any ideas why my tang and shrimp died?

Yes saltwater. My water parameters were the same between my old and new tank same SG and pH.

My rodi and mixing station is in the garage. I placed the saltwater into a brute and used the sicce and garden hose to move the water from brute to tank.

did you flush out the hose?
i use a hose and a milwaukee pump frequently for water changes and i flush them both out with a couple gallons of saltwater before use and i haven’t had any issues

My guess is a different issue. But I would have flushed it well from the spigot first for a while then a little ro before use. Sorry about your losses. How long has the 90 been running. And cycled?

Tank has been cycled for about 3 weeks I say. I had a ton of nitrates after the cycle so I drained the tank twice and refilled. I didn't flush the hose but I essentially did after filling and draining the tank after cycle?

Yeah I’m thinking it was another issue than the hose. But cycled for 3 weeks and water changes all sound pretty good. What are your parameters? Pic of your tank? Anything else that could have stressed your fish?
Do you have tds in your RO water? What about possibility of faulty equipment or temperature swings?

The shrimp dying within 2 hours is what bothers me because it was pretty quick. Would not think that would be enough time for any swings? The first thing I thought of was possibly transferring them too quickly? I didn't acclimate. I just placed them into a bucket and poured them into the new tank.

Just remembered another difference from my 20g. I had added seachem clarity to try and clear the water of the dust from the sand.
