Hi Everyone,

I have seen a couple posts here. I got my water at my LFS store and it looks like the salinity of the water is running at about 1.03.. Should I try to get that number down? As well I do have the diatoms process.. Since this process has started should I be looking to get a cleaning crew for this or do they diatoms start to disappear? Just curious on what my next steps should be! Thanks

Diatoms use the silica in your sand to build the shell. once that is gone they usually go away. Then your tank will start to turn green.
Corals like it around 1.026
Fish are not as fussy. With fish only some people keep it at 1.022 to save on salt.

@lapin Thanks for all the information you have provided me on my past few posts. I extremely appreciate it. I will definitely want to add some RODI into the tank then. Thanks for the information!
