I think the answer is probably no… but just wanted to ask if anyone has been able to control where their diamond goby digs or at least discourage it from certain areas?

Mine is a particularly busy fish and spends all day building various mounds and moving things around. So much so, that he has almost completely cleared the sand down to the glass on the back 1/4 of the 120g tank and made the entire sand bed slope upward toward the front. Like I now have a DSB in the front 1/4! He also irritates some of my corals placed low and almost completely buried one on a rock an inch off the sand bed. I love watching him and think he adds a lot of character to the tank. Just wish I could keep him away from a couple areas…

Nope...he's going to dig where he wants to dig! Probably best to remove corals from the sand bed or that are very close to the bottom of the tank. You can also use a turkey baster a couple of times per day clearing the sand off of the corals.

I had a diamond goby that eventually calmed down and became less active over time.
