I accidentally posted this in the general forum;

I’ve had this Devil’s Hand for about a month and it won’t completely open. It was completely open at the LFS. I have it placed near the bottom in a medium to low flow area as suggested. 90 gallon tank; salinity just under 1.025, nitrate - 20ppm, phosphate - 0.25ppm, calcium - 420ppm. There are also toadstool corals and three bible tips which all seem very happy and healthy. I also have a pink tail trigger, two clowns, two azure damsels, a tailspot blenny, and a cleaner shrimp. Any thoughts as to why the Devil’s hand won’t open all the way?

This seems to be the normal polyp length for Lobophytum leathers.
This is the PE I have from my Lobophytum species, and it appears to be a similar length to yours.

Yeah that looks the exact same! When I bought it though, they were longer and more feather like at the tips. Somewhat like the picture I found on the internet.
