I have heard from many many others reefers in the hobby that recommended for me to dose the rocks that have the hair algae into a bucket with saltwater and hydro peroxide. Do any of you have any experience and would you know the amount to add. I also was told that you can have corals such as zoas and some others that can be attached and survive the dip.

Hello - if the algae is not extremely widespread, it would probably be safer to apply the peroxide directly to the affected areas of algae. I have never dunked a complete rock with corals on it, so will leave others to opine on that.

GHa is more sensitive to peroxide than corals, so id soak a rock for 5 to 10 minutes following the guideline in the link above.

if you go with the direct application route, you can remove the rock and apply the peroxide directly to affected areas with a cotton swab or something similar, wait for the algae to begin to foam/die, the place the rocks back.
