Does anyone on here run the Dalua great white DC protein skimmer?

I got it 2nd hand and I'm finding it difficult to tune correctly. Would love to see where others have their water level within the skimmer and bubbles etc.

Skimmer is in 8inch of water within the sump.

I do have a small bio load ( 2 clowns) and it seems to pull a very small amount of wet skim. I've had it running 3 weeks now and only ever got to 1/4 of the collection cup.

Yeah true. It is pulling some stuff but mainly just a pale water colour.

I got one a few months back and I love it!!! I have my water level so it sits in the middle of the logo which creates more of a dry skim but that’s because my sump isn’t that big. It pulls out a lot of gunk and I only have 2 clowns, 1 bicolour and some clean up crew plus 2 corals. It did take some time for it to break in but now it’s working fine. Only problem I have is that I get micro Bubbles in my sump from its outlet because water is escaping from the slider that adjusts the water flow.

Ah that makes sense then as my water level is slightly above the logo and I'm getting a wet skim.

Might try to raise it up by putting something underneath so water is in middle of logo.

What number do you have the controller on. All the way up to 20?

I had mine raised for the first few days as the water level always sat above the logo for some reason I think because it wasn’t taking in enough water quick enough. I just played around with the air valve that screws into the white plastic rim and the outlet slider until I found what worked for me and eventually took it off the stand. Mine doesn’t have the controller. unfortunately I got the next model down so I couldn’t help you there sorry

I'm finding my air valve doesn't really do much. If i open or close the water valve is the only time I see any change.

Played around with it for ages now haha
