Is this Cyano? There are spots elsewhere under sandbed as well. It seems to have grown a bit. My first instinct is to want to break it up and/or try to siphon out, but I don’t want to release anything into water column.

none above the sand level. Or in the sump. Nutrients are “normal”:

- N: 8-10

- P: 0.02 - 0.04 (although has been dropping my pretty rapidly).

You need to add some beneficial bacteria to your tank , don’t disturb your sand bed doing so will more than likely nuke your tank with a sand bed that deep. It’s unsightly but over time as bacteria breaks it down it will go away.

I dose some bactobalance daily. At times I have dosed some NitroBac 7. I am happy to add some potions to the tank, but #1 don’t want to nuke my nutrients #2 don’t want that tank my Ph unless i know there is a benefit.
