HELLO EVERYONE I've been working on this one for a while now and not sure what equipment I need to make it work. For right now it's going to be FOWLR
but eventually I would like to add some corals when i get more experience. I've been in the hobby for 6yrs freshwater only. Now I want to try saltwater. So this is what I've done so far 180gal tank 72-24-24 custom stand & rockwork (carib sea) I built myself.
3/100w nicrew lights ran in series with kessil controller X, 160 lbs of carib sea ocean direct live sand not in tank yet.
Tank marineland 180 w/dual corner overflows.

EcoReef Sump 400 (45" x 14.5" x 16") - Pro Clear Aquatic Systems

Jebao/Jecod DCP-10000 Submersible Return water Pump Reef Tank upgrade DCT-10000

Equipment that i'm looking to buy:
Maxspect sk-800 skimmer
Maxspect XF350 cloud edition double package
Brs 600w heater/W Inkbird controller
Tunze osmolator 3155 ATO
I added some pics of the build all suggestions are welcome. As I said first time with a salt water tank anything that you see that can be adjusted or or added feel free to comment left side as you can see is where the sump goes on the right I would like to have ATO.
AREA SIZE IS 36H/20W/29L any ideas
I had some vids but file was too big SMH

Did you cure that rock? That purple Carib Sea is notorious for leaching silicates and phosphates. Everything looks great just trying to save you a year of aggravation.
When you say cure the rock, what do you mean? I'm new to this, so all information is very helpful it's not filled with water yet so what should I do first

Curing the rock is kinda like letting it go through it's own cycle in a separate container before putting it in the tank.
That way any organic material on it decays, leech out elements, and develop its layer of beneficial nitrifying bacteria before going in the tank.
Sorry I didn't search for a link to post but if you search for curing rock I'm sure you'll find lots of info.
The other alternative is buying already cured "live" rock. Rock that's been cycled and running in a system.
Your tank and stand look awesome, well done!!

I guess the best you can do is soak it saltwater and test weekly for silicates followed by water changes. The problem with that material is once your tank is established your gonna be chasing phosphates like a crackhead chasing a dollar on a windy day.

How do you like that sump? Considering it for my build, but I don’t see too many people using it
