I have a 40g breeder reef tank with a Current USA Orbit Marine LED light that I’ve had up for about 2 weeks. I am still new and started with easy beginner corals (zoanthids and leather coral). I started the light out at 6 hrs with a lower intensity in blues and whites (about 30% blue, 10% white and have gradually been increasing to about 60% blue 15% white over last few weeks…with a ramp up/down period and a moonlight phase. I’m not really seeing much change in any of the corals. I found a video from the manufacturer that lists their recommended color spectrum/times but it has a lot of red and green. Should I follow their guidelines or would I be setting myself up for an algae bloom? I’ve watched tons of BRS videos about lighting and they all say reds contribute to algae. And also that I need to leave the light alone and not to constantly alter it; but I’m still struggling with finding the right levels for my corals. Anyone have any advice? Thanks! Here’s the link to the video I found from Current USA…I also wrote it out if you don’t want to watch the video
