No. They stay quite small and form a symbionic relationship with acropora corals.
Currently, he is in a container awaiting his fate and a positive id. He is smooth and almost translucent with spots. Maybe a porcelin crab? I don't have any acro in the tank. He must have come in on some gorgonians I purchased yesterday. If he will be harmless to my seahorses I'll keep him in my tank. If not compatable (and reef safe) he will go into the 90g mixed. Then, there is always the sump. :)

I am hoping Renee @Lionfish Lair can chime in. She helped me ID a hipponix that was attached to the rear of one of my Conchs. You can see it on her Hitchhiker Id website. The crab really is ridiculously cute! I gave him a water change today and tried feeding him some micro pellet and a piece of mysis. :)

Hard to tell for certain, but I don't see the maxillipeds in the pics (feather-like appendages porcelain crabs use to filter food from the water). It's not uncommon for an acro crab to hitch hike in on a gorg or other sps coral. :)
