These small pecs of brownish-reddish have been forming on my back wall in multiple places.
Are they coralline algae? They are not moving and they have a rocky texture to them. Plus don't coralline algae grow in an incrusting plate form like a montipora or in a blanket type of growth like Gsp?
On the camera, they look white because I don't have a filter.

Look like spirobid worms to me. They usually show up way before coralline on a new tank.
Aren't spirobid worms white? If it is spirobid worms would the best be to introduce a wrasse or do you think my springeri damsel would eat them? My damsel usually go searching for small kritters like flatworms or pods that are on the rocks or glass.
