Hi can anybody help me idea this? The guy I spoke to in the lfs wasn’t sure what it was but I got it anyway as liked how it looks. It looks similar to the chalice in this picture to me but without the orange ring. The mouths are orange on mine with a teal/greenish base. WhenI bought it I thought it might have been an acan or favia?

It’s literally just got in the tank and I took the photo with an orange filter other wise it just looks blue.

Thanks

Judging by the pic on the website vs what you were given, I would wager that it's a deformed Echinophyllia aspera.

Oh. Well then, it's likely an Acanthastrea. It's not necessarily Acanthastrea echinata, as most of the Acanthastrea species (echinata, brevis, rotundoflora, subechinata) haven't been genetically delimited from each other yet.

i cant think

I would definitely say Acan echinata - likely to be a yellow eye echinata (Which you can get rainbow yellow eyes it’s just rare).
