Is there any difference in frag development mounted on acrylic instead of rock.

In particular:

1) anyone who has ever grew encrusting SPS corals on back glass/acrylic experienced any difference in coral growth?

2) anyone used acrylic plugs instead of ceramic plugs experienced any difference?

Since acrylics are very non-porous, Corals tend to break off it fairly easy. The growth rates are the same ime.
