I don't plan to have any macroalgae in the display tank but I will have an algae scrubber to help stabilize PH, lower nutrient levels, and remove silicates and toxins.

I have used marine melafix in the past to help with recovery and tissue loss.

I would advise them to rent a par tester and mark out the par numbers in their tank. I wish I had done this on my first one before placing and gluing corals.

I use mounts to keep my low par coral off the sandbed, and I use mag racks on my back glass to fill the vertical space with corals.

I think the biggest rtn preventative for me is keeping on regular water changes and once it starts I treat with marine melafix.

My approach is to try to make the best use of the space for flow but to also plan for different par mounting areas.

I separate them for direct warfare, if I suspect chemical interactions may be taking place I replace chem pure and do a 50% water change.

Zoanthids easy to care for and come in almost every color known to man what's not to love.
