I'm still trying to get this one figured out.
I try to get it in a low light spot, then fail to do whatever I need to do, and watch it further die.
go slow. no, slower than that.
I have never had rtn because I get it confused with STN (sudden tissue necrosis)
my approach is wrong.
I run carbon, that I should probably change out...
I tend to lose the "day 0" picture in my camara roll and find it a yar later, thinking "wow, that hasn't changed a bit!"

DAILY QUESTION: What role do macroalgae play in your coral growth strategy?
they play a fish food role. they feed the fish, fish feed the coral.
They grow over the coral and kill it, so I don't have any.
I also don't have a "coral growth strategy," I let the coral decide for themselves how to grow or not.
Who ever wins the reactor do your self a favor and get a Kamoer pump to control the effluent.
Tunze will not advise you to use one but the way you adjust the effluent drip on the 3171 leaves alot to be desired. With the Kamoer you can control the effluent by just turning the dial.
Set your bubble count and adjust effluent to 20+ with the Kamoer and your golden. No need for a controller or ph probe.

Entry question: The single best thing I've done to boost growth in my tank is dosing Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium in conjunction with Amino Acids and Trace Elements consistently and keeping a higher level of all of the above in my tank.
