I have a chunk of eggcrate that I use for new frags that sits on the bottom. It needs to be cleared up and removed with frags all mounted but I have been too lazy to get around to it. Bonus ten: Nutrients are good. ULN tanks suffer because there isn’t enough food for the ecosystem and the corals. Though it’s a balance as too many nutrients are of course not a good thing.DAILY QUESTION: What's your thoughts on nutrients in a reef tank? Are they good or bad? How do you manage them?
Bonus eleven: flow is incredibly important in keeping corals. Without it they would simply die. The best to get the right flow for keeping corals is to have gyre flow in an on-off pattern to simulate oceanic currents and waves.DAILY QUESTION: How important is flow in coral growth? What have you found to be the best way to get the right flow for keeping corals healthy and thriving?
Bonus twelve: I don’t feed my corals because I feel that my tank isn’t mature enough to handle the excess nutrients. I hope to start feeding my corals soon though.DAILY QUESTION: Do you feed your coral? If so, what are your favorite coral food and feeding techniques? If not, why not?
Bonus thirteen: I know the par in my tank and the flow so it no army spends on the kind of coral. For example an acro would go at the top and be slightly covered by a ledge so the flow isn’t overwhelming while a zoa would be at the bottom on an island.DAILY QUESTION: How do you handle coral placement in your tank for optimal growth?
