DAILY QUESTION: What has been the biggest setback you've experienced in growing corals? How did you bounce back?

I lied in the last question. LOL. Spionid worms. I used ivermectin to kill them. It really hurt a few coral. I bounce back by waiting. Waiting for them to grow back. This is not rocket science.

DAILY QUESTION: What's your thoughts on nutrients in a reef tank? Are they good or bad? How do you manage them?

You definatly need nutrients. My no3 is always low, just keep feeding the tank.
My po4 spiked to 0.4 recently. It always ran at 0.1
I started using the Garf method to reduce them. Sand bag switching with LC to desorb the phosphate. Works quite well. I'm down to 0.15 last check Friday.

I just bought 2 gyres. I haven't figured out the best yet but the flow is crazy.

I feed the fish. The fish feed the coral.

SPS sticks go high on rock. Plating or encrusting go a little lower.
Hammers and such, I have good luck next to reef faces.

Still working on that, lol.
Mostly out comes down to flow and light, lots of it.

I havent had to deal with much aggression, I keep similar species together

Official entry: Really two things have made the biggest difference.
1- Using an accurate set of dosers pumps
2 - Daily additions of iodide
